Dark Chocolate Bark

Super simple snack, hostess gift, or potluck contribution that is quick to make and customizable for your dietary needs.

Good quality chocolate studded with gems of dried fruit, cacao nibs, hemp hearts, and more - what’s not to like? Don’t cheap out on the quality of the chocolate as it is the star of this dish!

Ingredients:
1.5-2 cups good quality chopped dark chocolate (or preferred type of chocolate)

Toppings of your choice; see examples below:
- Dried fruit (dried cranberries, cherries, pineapple, blueberries, etc)
- Nuts (sliced or whole almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, walnuts, etc) ((optional))
- Pumpkin Seeds
- Hemp Hearts
- Cacao Nibs
- Flakey Sea Salt

Method:

1 - Melt dark chocolate in a double boiler (pot with a bit of water and glass bowl placed on top. Place chocolate pieces in glass bowl. Water does not need to be touching the bowl - the steam will melt the choco). Stir constantly.

2 - Once melted, transfer chocolate to a parchment lined baking tray. Smooth out with a spatula so that it is evenly spread out.

3 - Top with toppings of your choice, and gently push toppings into the soft chocolate. Let chocolate set for a few mins before adding the flakey sea salt (if using), so it doesn’t sink to the bottom.

4 - Drizzle any remaining chocolate over the bark with a spoon/spatula. Can use a bit of white chocolate here as a nice colour contrast.

5 - Allow to set at room temperature, or in the fridge to set quicker.

6 - When completely cooled/hardened, remove the bark from the parchment paper by breaking it up into bite sized pieces with your hands. Serve in a nice gift box if gifting to someone or keep in a sealed container. Can keep for up to a week room temperature or a bit longer if in the fridge. Enjoy!
